Frequently Asked Questions What is Teaching Videos? This site is a place where teachers can view and share educational videos that can be used in the classroom. Whilst you can browse Youtube, Vimeo or Google Video to find a wide range of videos, Teaching Videos allows you to see videos which othe r teachers have recommended as suitable for education. You can also register and add videos to the site yourself! Choose a question:
There are three ways to find a video: Searching - Just type your search terms in the box at the top of every page to see relevant educational videos. Browse by subject / topic - Click on the subject / topic links in the menu bar to see videos in those categories. Some of the categories are further divided into subcategories to help you find useful teaching videos more easily. The subject areas on the site are based on subjects commonly taught in the UK. Many of these use acronyms which, for those unfamiliar with them, are:
Browse by age group - Click on the 'Home' option in the menu to see links which let you browse for videos according to their age group. Simply use the star rating system next to each video... better quality videos will have a higher rating.
How do I add a comment to a video? Simply fill in the comments form below each video and click Send.
Comments will be moderated before they appear to others on the site. How can I use these videos in my classroom? You can visit www.teachingvideos.co.uk in your own classroom, find the relevant video and show the videos directly via this site. Please be aware that some school networks might block Youtube or other embedded videos, so check this before your lesson! Help! Youtube (etc) is blocked in my school! How can I download a video to use in my classroom? See the 'How to download videos' page for further information. Is Youtube (etc) safe for use in the classroom? Although some of the videos on Youtube (and other online video sites) are not appropriate for school ages children, there are lots of extremely useful videos which you can use as part of your teaching.
